I have uploaded a folder of photos that have been compressed to a .zip.
When PC users download it are they likely to have any problems opening the .zip ?
If so, what application will they need?

Hmmmm. I used the Mac "compress" (found via using right click on a file or folder)
compressed a folder of JPG files to email to a friend, assuming they would unzip easily.
Instead, she said, her computer prompted her to buy a program to uncompress the files.
I'm assuming she is using Windows. Don't know what program tried to sell itself there.
Anyone recognize that situation>
PC users can use winzip, 7zip and winrar to unzip the files you've compressed

What format are the photos in?
If they are JPG then they are already compressed and putting them into a zip file will probably gain you nothing and might actually increase the amount space needed.

They are JPEGs but the zip is smaller.
The reason I have zipped them is because my "digital vault" will not accept a normal folder.
It just opens it and I have to select all the photos which I don't want to do.
Can Windows PC users open my .zip files?
