I recently downloaded LION for the MAC however I am unable to get facetime to work, I have put in my apple ID and password which I know is correct and nothing happens. The preferences payne is greyed out therefore I am unable to get into the account settings. I have created a new account with the same email address and still it will not work. Any ideas please

i have the same problem with my facetime in lion i opened in the community a question about facetime but nobody help me. ********. have you me account and have trıed ical? it also doesnt work! i would be nice when some one could help use
Just to confirm, you are calling someone either with an iPhone or another Mac which also has Facetime, and all of you are on a wi-fi network? Sorry if this is obvious.
I have sorted the problem after a lot of trial and error by turning my wifi off and then on. I can't really understand this as my email and internet were working perfectly.
Just to answer Dave B's question, I was using facetime on my IMAC and trying to make a call to my daughters IPAD2.
