SNMP Configuration

I have been struggling for the past months getting the Macs I support (OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard) to report their SNMP information. I have followed several different configuration guides with no luck getting any information to report.

The support company I work for uses Level Platforms for monitoring network devices that have WMI or SNMP enabled on them.

My basic question is how do I enable SNMP on OSX Snow Leopard, after that I'd like to know if there's anything that would change for OSX Lion.

I am not collecting information via a Mac Server, it's a Windows Server running Level Platforms.

Unfortunately LP does not support the configuration of SNMP on a Mac client.

Thank you in advance for any helpful information.
