Installed Lion, FCPX, Motion 5 and Compressor 4, ProAppsQTCodecs, content, etc.
en wanted to install DVD Studio Pro (FCS3). The installer stops with an error!
Any ideas?

Why would you format the external drive due to problems with Lion? What kind of problems?

Tried to install DVD Studio Pro 4 (FCS3). The installer stops with a system error! The system is in Dutch. so the error is also in Dutch.
Something like:

Did repair privileges, tried to install again, same error!

You should not be installing apps on an external drive. They should be on your system drive. I'd also try to install anything FCS 3 first, then install FCP X.

As I clearly explained I installed Lion on an external (2TB LaCie FireWire800) drive.
Booting from this drive will make it the System-drive and you should be able to install any kind of application.
This whole issue is probably due to Apple's 'disc-less' vision 😟
DVD Studio Pro (FCS3) doesn't install on Lion
