Why do I have to pay for update garageband in lion?

I just bought new macbook air which is os x lion. so garageband come with it. But I saw update garageband in app store, then i clicked. I lost money for update.


I need to know why i lost 14.99$ with update for garageband? If it come with lion, i should update for free?

My guess is that because you didn't buy GB from the App Store in the first place, it doesn't recognise it as a purchase.

Any updates for your original GB should have been done from Software Update.

Stilll, send an email to support, and they'll probably sort it out for you.

It's not really a "problem" since the version of Garageband on the Mac App Store and the version on your Mac you just bought are the same version you did not need to buy Garageband. In the future all updates to Garageband, and the other iLife apps that came pre-installed on your Mac will come through Software Update.
