how do you safely disconnect a usb camcorder from iMac 2010 with snow leapard

Hello all,

Thanks in advance of my question. I'm new to Mac and I need to know how to safely disconnect an usb camcorder from my iMac once

I've finished importing video from the (Sony HDR-CX 160) Handycam with flash memory. My camcorder documents says to disconnect after I

click the special icon (that says safely remove usb mass storage device) and then disconnect the usb cable from my camcorder. My PC had this icon, and I know that Mac does not, so how do I know how to disconnect my camcorder from the Mac?

Please be kind with your answers, and assume that I know nothing about a Mac. I really appreciate your help.

Thanks Again,

Pam

Thank you Kappy for your quick response. I am not inserting a SD card. I am connecting the camcorder by USB cord to my Mac. I haven't seen an icon that represents the USB. I pressed the eject button on my keyboard, but I didn't see that it gave me any indication that the USB had been disconnected. The camcorder screen did not indicate that it was ready to be disconnected either.

I would also like to add that the flash memory in my camcorder is internal and cannot be removed from the camera.
