Apple tv not accepting iTunes password

Did you ever figure out what it was? I have the same problem. Used my apple tv for 11 months now it won't allow log in no matter what we do. Log in works on pc but not apple tv. Tried resetting wifi connection and others but no go.

I'm also having the same problem. Everything was working fine but now my ATV will not recognize my itunes account. Ive tried all sorts of suggestions but nothing has worked so far.......so there it sits a useless little black brick!

It's a straightforward port-forwarding issue.

You need to forward ports to the internal ip address of your apple tv as follows:

TCP 123

TCP 3689

UDP 5353

TCP 80

TCP 4343

TCP 53

This may also solve other problems you may have with homesharing...

It's really frustrating, and forwarding ports is not something I should have to do. But let's face it - iTunes is losing money because I'm not buying their tv shows and movies! You would think Apple would fix this.

I was at the Apple store yesterday and asked about this issue. They've never heard of it, and said that this forum is "just another internet site where anyone can write anything."

How come Apple doesn't address this issue, but chooses to ignore it?

I have no clue what you are talking about. How do I forward ports and what is a port. Where do I find it on my Apple TV? Some of us are old timers and need to understand it in plain English
