How to move a Kindle book from iPad to MacBook Pro

If you have the Kindle app on the computer, you can search your archives for the book you want. Your purchased books always remain in your archives and can be accessed from any device--the Kindle or any others with the Kindle app. If you previously downloaded the Kindle app to your Mac, but can't find it, it will appear in the list of purchased apps. Otherwise, just obtain it from the App Store.

You find the kindle application for Mac from amazon. You download it and sync it.

You cannot transfer books from the iPad.

I downloaded the Kindle app over a month ago, but now I don't know how to access the Kindle app. My Kindle is in need of repair and won't turn on.
