Hi would like to purchase a new iphone. My friend got a brand new fone (Still boxed and plastic covered). But it is so weird that he was selling it at almost half a price. My question is how can I determined that it was an original one (the one really made by apple?). Is there a way? Thanks!

Obvious answer is to ask your friend where he got it from and why he is selling it at almost half price.
If you are having doubts about something a friend is trying to sell you, doesn't that tell you something?
Dude i didn't understand? But when I ask him why your iphone is so cheap. he says that because they bought wholesale of iphone thats why they got discounts and selling it at much more lower price. Can't you offer another solution for me to verify if it is real or what? Like after I bought his fone how should I know if it is original? Thanks!
You are going to have to get the SN off the phone itself...the SN is also printed on the box, but this is no guarantee that what's in the box matches what the box says should be there. Then, plug the SN in here:

If your friend won't let you do that, I'd suggest you walk away.

You need physical access to the phone itself...again, if your friend won't do that...walk away.
you see the SN+IMEI nr in the iphone settings (when the iphone is on) or in the simtray
SN is not enough, beleive me i "heard" about faked iphones, so the imei nr. is the best way to find it out
this nr. begins with 01...
the faked iphones i heard about had a valid SN but a fake imei nr. which did not had the form of the nr. designed by apple
