My girlfriend's 13'' Macbook Pro just began this issue. it worked last night, but not when I try to turn it on, it gets stuck as the dvd drive keeps skipping. Nothing else on the computer turns on, makes a noise, or anything. It keeps doing this, but i guess it will stop when it fully runs out of battery. Is there anyway of restarting or resetting things? I can't get to the battery out either as it's screwed in. Any thoughts?

Hold the power button down for 5-10 seconds to shut down.
Try booting again.
Depending on what happens, we can try other things.
That was the first thing I tried. Thank you for the answer, but not only does it not turn off after this, besides starting the initial dvd drive clicking, it does nothing. It only seems to stop on it's own after a while of clicking...Any other thoughts? I really appreciate the help!

What does the sleep light/indicator on the front of the MBP show during all of this?
