i tried to update my iphone and keep getting error 3194 please help
I am having the same problem. When the last update came out I had to go to an apple store. They hooked my phone up to one of their computers and I was fixed and out the door in 15 min. This morning I went to an apple store and they told me the only way they could help me is if they wipped my phone completely!! I asked if I should bring in my computer so they could help me find a perminent solution and he said "all we would have you do is uninstall and reinstall iTunes. *** are you kidding me! Apple has been NO HELP with this error AT ALL!!
Have you uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes?
yes and it is the latest version
You need to update to the latest version of itunes. If that doesn't fix the issue you may need to uninstall and redownload itunes. Make sure to follow the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1925 or http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923 so that you remove all components correctly
I spent all morning doing that. I even uninstalled every apple product on my computer and restarted the computer before reinstalling iTunes.
If you have done all of Apple steps and still having problems with Error 3194. Search on the Computer for "Hosts". Then open the Hosts file with a word processor. There should be no lines in the Hosts file with gs.apple.com, if there is, then your Hosts file has been modified to Block Apple.
Has this computer EVER been used to jailbreak, roll back, or otherwise hack ANY device (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad, etc), not just the phone with the problem? If it has you need to fix your hosts file on your computer. The problem in this case has nothing to do with the phone.
You also may need to disable your antivirus and firewall.
YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! đđâ
Thanks for the info!
After cleaning up the host files you might wanna flush your dns by typing ipconfig /flushdns on an administrator command prompt.
Just my 0.02
If you are getting error 3194 and you are running WINDOWS 7 64-bit, you are out of luck.
I've tried everything suggested on most newsgroups, and nothing works.
I was able to successfully update my iPad and iPhone with IOS5 using my MacBook Pro. If you are desperate to install iOS5, try using a computer running Windows 32-bit or Mac OSX.
In the past, Apple always takes a few releases to support Windows 64-bit. I had similar issue with previous iOS versions, where iPhone would not synchronize with Outlook 64-bit.
hey can you help me with 3194 error i am getting it while i am unable to restore my ios as well
Same answer as 2 messages up. Here is the official answer: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error3194.
If your computer has EVER been used to jailbreak or hack any device running iOS your network database on your computer is hosed. You need to edit the hosts file and remove any lines that contain gs.apple.com.
yes i have checked there is nothing related to gs.apple.com in the hosts file
and i am running the latest itunes
and laptop has never been used for jailbreak etc.
And have been updating with the current laptop but this happend first time while doing iOS6
Try disabling your antivirus and firewall.
