Widescreen display

Some webpages don't display in widescreen. At a resolution of 1440x900 the display is about 8 inches wide. If I change the res the image is stretched and kinda distorted. For example this discussions page fills the screen, but Yahoo doesn't.

Otherwise I've never had any problem with this laptop. I love it.
