I'm trying to upgrade to Lion and its asking for a computer password. I never set a password for my notebook computer.

I just bought a 17" MacBook Pro and downloaded the 'Lion' upgrade. When I try to install the new software, I am being asked to provide a

computer password. I have only had the notebook less than 8 hours and never set a password. Is there a generic password set by the factory?

How do I change it?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.7), This is a brand new notebook

A password is set in System Preferences using Accounts preferences.

Did you setup the computer yourself? If so you provided information in the Setup Assistant which included creating your account and password. Did you provide a password?
