Why is there no satellite view for places within the photos app?
You probably just have the street view of google maps but there is not UI possibility to switch to satellite view like in the maps app.

If you greatly need this feature, try free app named "Map Plus", which provide a photo map and map type (like satellite) switch.

However, I can't see any reason why Apple hides the satellite view...
Roadmap cost less network data, faster to load, more clear to indicate the places, etc. So why not provided saterllite ones? you may turn to Apple designer for reasons 😝
