About my macbook memory

Hey.

I have a 2006 Black Macbook, and its perfectly fine, it runs OS X Snow Leopard and I want to buy the new Lion OS X. I heard in the keynote that you would need at least 4 GB available to download it. I checked my memory and it said I had available 70.33 GB, so I tried to download but it said I had to have at least 2 GB of memory! What's wrong?

Thanks!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Black Macbook

You are confusing storage (your hard drive) with Ram (memory) you have 70.33GB of storage but less than 2GB of Ram. You need to buy more Ram

Hi,

Memory (or RAM) is what is used by open applications and that kind of thing and it is erased when you shut down your computer.

Disk space (hard drive) is where the pictures, documents, videos, etc is stored.

Your RAM is smaller than your hard drive because it's more expensive.

If you want more about each, you can just use google. Good Luck!
