I'm aware of several apps that do this via Wi-Fi. Since most of these apps advertise avoiding the use of a cable as an advantage, I'm presuming that it is possible to extend a Macbook display to iPad 2 via cable. Does anyone know how to do this? Or any other method not involving Wi-Fi?

Just because they state it is an adavnatage, that doesn't mean it is possible to do it with a cable.
