****Fix for Lion WiFi issues!!!!!*****

Definately worked for me with my Netgear WNDR37000. Changed to cannel 11 and so far no problems!!

Please try to find out what the other 2 channels are!

After using about this mac to get info for all available wireless networks in range of my iMac, I opted to use channel 11, cause there was a stronger network on channel 6 that I couldn't access. So far(about 3 weeks) I've had no problems beside the usual ones I get and even those are getting few and far between. Thank you for posting this!

No effect for me. Lion is still a POS.

I use a Netgear router and the only machine which has problems with WIFI is the Lion installed system. As for Apple phone support, I found them to ignorant and arrogant when dealing with this problem. One told me I had the wrong security set on my router when I clearly told him I had what he stated I needed.

Changing channels can help significantly if there are things interfering with your router on the same frequency.

iStumbler can help you find other networks in your area, but most routers default to channel 6, which is where they stay. Channels 1, 6, and 11 don't interfere with each other at all. Channels right next to each other will overlap and could cause interferrence.

Things like cordless phones, microwave ovens, security systems all work in the same frequency spectrum as 802.11 WiFi. Cordless phones usuall scan the whole spectrum for a "clean" channel each time you pick up the phone.

I found the same info on a forum two days ago. That person said to change to channel 3.After doing that (I'm running linksys E2000) my wifi has been up for 48 hrs. It has not done that since I upgraded. I think what's important is to find a channel that is clear of interference. At last I can enjoy my Mac again.

Sorry buddy but this isn't the right answer... My Lion continues loosing wi-fi connections even if with channel 11 is choose on the WNDR3700 ...

Searching on the net, I've found this will be fixed on the new update 10.7.2 which is currently released for developers only...

Unfortunately, we have to wait until Apple release the fix for us... Looks like Apple started to release unfinished products like Microsoft always does with their windows versions...:(

Someone from Macrumors forum said the problem continues with 10.7.2 which he had installed...

So, lets see how long Apple will take to fix this issue!!

Channel 11 seems to have worked for me! I was loosing connection around every two mintues on my brand new iMac and MacBook that I upgraded to Lion.

Fingers crossed this isn't just a coincidence.

For me too, solved the problem! Hope I won't have more issues in the (near) future, at least.

I am a Mac addict, but those things really make me angry!

BTW, I did it on a TRENDNET router.

I tried it on channel 7like others recommended and it only lasted a short time.

Thank you! I tried everything I could think of, but this fixed my problem. My wireless access point was set to channel 1 by default. It did not give me the option to pick channel 11, so I picked channel 6.

No WiFi problems since!
