iPhone 4 internal speaker not working?

Over the last couple of days the internal speaker of my iPhone 4 has stopped working – ie. I can't hear anything when on a call. If I switch to the speaker, everything is fine, switch back to normal, hold the phone to my ear and I get nothing.

Music plays through earphones, and the external speaker, just nothing on the internal when on a call.

Any fixes for this? I've tried soft and hard resets, syncing, I've got the latest iOS version...

I'm in the UK – if I go to 02 where the phone was purchased will they replace it?

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Macbook 2.4Ghz, Mac OS X (10.7)

I thought I might of solved the problem – I found a thread saying that the headphone port can get clogged up with fluff so I cleaned that out gently with a straightened paperclip and got quite a lot out... but still no joy 😟

Alas ive had the same problem twice and now its gone again.. Ive only had my phone back 10 days and the internal speaker has stopped working AGAIN!

Twice its been in the shop and twice its been sent away and the software updated, and twice ive had to do without a phone for a week while its away being repaired!.. this shouldnt be happening on such an expensive piece of kit.

Im going to try for a new phone!

It's now resloved, yes. I went to my local Apple Store, and they replaced it for a new one on the spot. Took 5 minutes. If something is under warranty, get it replaced not repaired!

Getting it replaced isn't a resolution... sure it's a workaround, but that doesn't solve the issue.

hi , if i bought the iphone through apple online store, can i take my phone to the retail store to claim for warranty? I also having same problem as you. Thanks
