Desktop wallpaper doesn't remain after shutdown
After installing Lion on my IMac, desktop wallpaper reverts to "universe" after a shutdown and bootup. This happens on all windows.

Not sure what you mean "happens on all Windows?"
For your custom wallpaper put it into the pictures folder and try again.
How do I put the custom wallpaper into the pictures folder? Thanks.
Drag and drop.
There seems to be a bug in the desktop wall paper settings.
The Picture Folder has in some cases proven to be more stable, then say the iPhoto Folder.
If you have multiple Desktops open in Mission Control you may try changing the background pix for all desktops, or close all desktops then set the "wallpaper."
I have a similar problem: I have multiple desktops set up, each set to change backrounds hourly based on two different folders. However, after the first hour, one continues to cycle through photos while the other reverts to the default "Andromeda" background until manually changed. If restarted, the "stuck" desktop remains. Any help?
