In app purchase problems.

I have just made two in app purchases that apparently did not go through...

I have been charged for them - but the applications do not recognize that a purchase has been made. I checked my account online, and there is no record of a purchase there either. So basically I have been charged by Apple for orders that don`t seem to have been passed on to the actual stores.

In this case, it was two different stores, one after another (Zinio and Magastore) so I doubt it is an application issue. As they were magazine subscriptions, it will REALLY hurt if I cannot get either a refund or the actual subscriptions I paid for. I have tried reporting a problem through iTunes, but it just redirects me to a FAQ page with nothing related to my issue.

Is there ever a serious (as in multiple hour) lag between purchase and it being passed on to the actual store? I know this is a first for me, and I am kind of concerned that I am going to end up paying for 2 magazine subscriptions that I will never get.

Hey, I had mine resolved through Apple Support. I sent them a complaint through to iTunesStoreSupport@apple.com. Customer service promptly replied me saying they'll look into it and reversed the in-app charges.

I think I went to Apple Support https://expresslane.apple.com/Issues.action and followed the prompts to iTunes store support. Then select the Accounts and Billing option. Type in a description of the in-app purchase error and send it to Apple.

Hope that helps

When I buy a magazine from Zinio, it does take some time before I get a confirmation from iTunes of the purchase. If you were successful in buying the magazine, it should be immediately available in the Zinio App, on your iPad. Do you not see the magazine in your library? The magazine should be there with a down arrow in the middle of the magazine. Touch the magazine and it will download (it takes a couple minutes for the entire magazine to download).

The purchase appeared to go through normally, but no, the magazine is not available for download. I checked my account via pc, and it the purchase does not appear at all on the Zinio side. I have purchased other magazines and subscriptions through them in the past, and while it might take some time to download, the addition to my library was always instantaneous.

The same goes for Magastore - where I made a purchase immediately following the Zinio one. Heading on a trip tomorrow so wanted some train reading... Suppose I should have stopped and checked to see if the Zinio one came through before making any other purchases, but as I have never had a problem I didn't think to.

So, I have confirmed that Apple has charged me for the two subscriptions, but neither account shows a purchase made.

I figure I will have to call support in the morning. I tried rebooting and reinstalling the apps, but it did nothing. The purchases appear to have simply not been passed on from Apple to the actual stores. I assume if they had been, at the very least the purchases would show up in my Zinio and Magastore accounts when checked online (not via the apps). The purchase histories show everything other than the two subscriptions I purchased earlier today.

I am hoping that there is some way to fix this, as if there isn't, I highly doubt I will ever risk a purchase again.

Yes, I did. I made purchases in the apps. The purchases show up in my iTunes purchase history, but the purchased magazines are not available in the apps or through the online accounts for the stores. The purchases are also not listed in the purchase histories of Zinio or Magastore. (Both when checked through the apps and when checked through their web pages.)

I can come up with no explanation other than a snafu when passing purchase data between the app store and the respective stores. If it had only been a single event, I would likely suspect it was on their side, but as it was two consecutive purchases made in totally unrelated apps... I will be calling support later.

I do want to thank you for you suggestions though! I will update once I have contacted support.

I'm sorry I wasn't more helpful. I buy a lot of magazines through Zinio. Since they changed the app to in-app purchasing, it's gone smoothly for me, so I am interested in hearing what you learn from support and I can understand how you would be concerned about making purchases without getting what you purchased. Please do write back when support offers anything.........

I have the exact same problem. Bought a magazine subscription through the Zinio app on my iPad, the purchase shows up in the history on my iTunes account, but it didn't download the first issue of the magazine. I can't find the purchase anywhere on the iPad or my Zinio account. I will try to contact their support and let you know if I find out how to solve this problem.

I have the exact same problem.

I purchased two magazines in-app through Zinio. One came through immediatly. The other subscription was charged but I've never received the magazine.

The "resolve and issue" link on my iTunes receipt does not work - it just takes me back to the Apple support page - maddening!

There is no way to report an issue on Zinio.

No way to ask for a refund through iTunes (that I can see).

It would be very helpful if someone from Apple support could offer guidance.
