I just bought a new iphone 4 and would like to sync it with my old iphone4. I first sycned my old iphone. then synced my new iphone. however i noticed the date for the last backup was all the way from March and was not up to date. I tried connecting my old iphone back and created a new backup. however, when i try to restore my new iphone from a back up. the back up is still outdated.

also when i go under preferences, i see the backup is there. however when i try to restore it from the back. it wont let me chose the new back up from the drop down menu.
What version of iOS are the two devices running?
one is the latest from at&t wich is the 4.3 (the old iphone) . and the new iphone is a 4.2.10 the latests from from verizon,
Then that is the problem. It is not possible to restore a backup from one version of iOS to a device running an older version of iOS.
All content from the device should be in the iTunes library on the computer, simply resync it.
There is no way to restore SMS from the AT&T phone to the VZW phone.
