Q: Angry Birds update, but not owned?

My App Store is telling me that I can upgrade Angry Birds to 1.6.2

Problem is, I have never bought Angry Birds for my mac, only for my iPod Touch

The only Angry Birds on my Mac is "Angry Birds 1.6.2.ipa"

When I click update it says: "Log in on (removed)@mail.ru to upgrade the programs on that account". I've never used that email or heard of it.

How can I remove it from my update list?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7), White, 2009

You have a pirated app that you downloaded for free from somewhere on the internet. The pirated app has been cracked by the pirates with the MAS receipt from the Angry Birds app acquired with this other persons Apple ID. Get rid of your pirated apps and you will get rid of this problem.

Yea, if I just ever HAD Angry Birds on my Mac. I'm not interrested for trying it either, so I havn't crackd it.

I've never tried Angry Birds for a mac, as said the only Angry Birds I have is the .ipa (v. 1.6.2) file for my iPod Touch.

When I look up Angry Birds on the App Store, i can buy it, because it's not installed on my mac.

Read what I actually wrote. I said that the pirated app that you have gotten somewhere for free has been cracked with the MAS receipt from Angry Birds acquired by this other person's Apple ID. The MAS is reading the receipt and notifying that Angry Birds has an update.

    Finding a pirated app

All MAS apps have a MAS receipt in their app bundle. Check any app acquired from the MAS. Right click on the app's icon in your Apps folder and choose Show package contents. In the Contents folder is a _MASReceipt folder and in that folder is the coded MAS receipt. It has the Apple ID of the MAS account that bought/acquired the app from the MAS. It is that receipt that the MAS uses to alert you that an app has an update. There would not be a notice of an update with someone else's Apple ID showing in the MAS on your Mac, if there was not an app with a receipt from this person's account somewhere on your Mac.

    Download the free app FindAnyFile (FAF);

    http://apps.tempel.org/FindAnyFile/

This app is easier to use and seems to be more powerful than Spotlight. Open FAF and in the box type _MASReceipt and press Find. It should come up with a list of every app on the Mac with a MAS receipt. Compare the apps with receipts in FAF's list with your purchased apps list in the Mac App Store. The odd app out should be the pirated app.

Maybe you should read what I actually wrote.

I never had Angry Bords, I havn't cracked/pirated it, and have no interrest of doing so.

If I actually had it wouldn't be a problem if it wanted to update and I wasn't able to upgrade, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Then I suggest that you look outside of the ASC for a solution. No one here will be able to assist you with this issue because you still have no clue what I have tried to explain to you twice in simple English.

You still don't seem to read what I wrote.

As I say now for 3rd time, I have NO, NO! pirated or free gained app of Angry Birds!

And I have NO Interrest of doing so!

I don't have trial of Angry Birds either if that is possible, I have nothing of that app, it suddenly came after I installed Rail Maze from App Store (over my own account)

I have the similar problem. never purchsed angry birds for any device - but app store on my MAC (not itunes) is telling me to download an update to angry birds.

If I do have a pirated app, where would I find it?  looked in itunes - nothing, used spotlight - nothing..

Can't you read? He is telling you that ANY PIRATED APPS you have downloaded are doing this to your App Store. By saying ANY PIRATED APPS, I mean that it doesn't have to be Angry Birds, it can be anything you pirated. Delete those pirated apps and you are good.

@dahveed I installed appzapper and entered a serial i had found on the web, which worked. This was when I had just purchased my mac. This problem came about this morning. I deleted the app and all its files up untill the point where i redowloaded it and i had to put a new serial and everything but still. That is the only app which i deleted and the problem remains.

You are looking for an app that you added to your Mac just in the last few months. You added it after the MAS was released with the 10.6.6 update. It is an app that you got free somewhere, that is also sold in the MAS.

Did you have another Mac before this ne one? Did you migrate anything to the new one?

All you say in your first comment here is that the problem remains. Explain to us clearly what problem it is that you are actuallu having.
