Aug 20, 2011 6:53 PM in response to Dah•veedby drplatano,This is my first Mac. I had a windows computer which i used mostly to download music torrents from the pirate bay. *sigh* I feel dirty saying how i used to download pirated software when i was a windows user but, it is the truth and I am trying to get some help so i have t say it. Currently paying for software specially now that i have the back to school gift card. Anyways, I transfered all the files from my PC to my iMac using a WD external HD including downloads, music, movies, etc. Maybe some of those files is causing it? The problem started this morning and it was this morning when i transfered the files over to the iMac. But then again, what app would i have downloaded to a windows PC that it is also on the Mac App Store? BTW thanks A LOT for the responses dahveed

Aug 20, 2011 7:16 PM in response to drplatanoby Dah•veed,OK, but what exactly is the problem that you are now having?
This thread is about an update appearing in the Mac App Store for an app that the OP says that he does not have installed on his Mac. And he says that the update is tied to an Apple ID that is appearing on his Mac in the MAS that is not his Apple ID.
Is this also the problem that you are having? The MAS on your Mac says that you have an update for an app that you do not have installed on your Mac and this update is connected with someone else's Apple ID?

Aug 20, 2011 7:36 PM in response to Dah•veedby drplatano,Yes that is EXACTLY the same problem i WAS having but now fixed thanks to the app u provided. I found a cracked angry birds folder that used to be in my PC. The receipt was causing the problem.

Aug 21, 2011 2:09 AM in response to Dah•veedby Lukas 45,Yea, I just started on a new school, where all got a brand new MacBook (13" medio 2010, the last available).
I have to admit, yes I do have cracked programs on my old mac. I did however transfer a lot to the new one (along with music). The update didn't come along.
The update appeared shortly after I installed Rail Maze (free app) from the App Store (didn't download anything else meanwhile).
But it's all okey now.

Wow, Lukas. I think that's what Dah•veed was telling you all along.
"You have a pirated app that you downloaded for free from somewhere on the internet."

Sep 17, 2011 11:57 AM in response to Lukas 45by Antonis74,Thank you very much Dah veed, I had the same problem and my initial thought it was that my account had been compromised. I hope more people will see this thread since there's a lot of frustration in the internet regarding this issue.

Sep 17, 2011 12:19 PM in response to Lukas 45by essouira,A solution: it appears (it seems to be the case as this worked) that Spotlight is used as a reference for the app store application program. More common than you think, but it took some finding nevertheless. Be generous with your knowledge, peeps!

Don't forget the reboot. Would add, exclude other drives such as backups that might also be indexed.
Bon chance!

Apr 11, 2012 5:20 AM in response to Lukas 45by MavBam,As an aside: I have it in my head that some 'cracked' apps utilise parts of the code of 'legitimately approved' apps to get around the authentification process. Angry Birds might have been the donor for one of you 'cracked' apps.
Just a thought.

Sep 5, 2012 1:35 PM in response to Dah•veedby Larry Marshall,So I'm hoping you can help me out on this one--I think my "1" badge is due to someone signing in and downloading the iOS version on my phone, and then my mac is trying to sync the app? I have a different itunes username coming up than my own. I also ran the "find any file" and searched " _MASReceipt" but zero results. Could be because I recently re-installed 10.8.1?

Jan 21, 2013 6:18 PM in response to Dah•veedby kerkuklu,Dahveed ,
You are genius brother , after searching some of the apps I had on my Macpro I found that the angrey bird was in " Motion 5" folder . I guess the guy whom I bought the Laptop from he had it on ....anyway, after deleting the App, the angrey bird update on app store was gone for good .
Thanks a lot
PS: Lukas , you need to use a little brain, then you will see what Dahveed is saying in his 2nd post is what you need to do to get rid of the Angry Bird

Mar 19, 2013 7:41 AM in response to Dah•veedby znuk83,Thank you!
Had the problem after updating to mountain lion. Before that, there have been no problems and the app was on my mac for quite a while.
Used the FAF- app looking for "_MASReceipt", checked out the files, found one with an .exec instead of receipt, erased the app, reboot et voila!
Problem solved.
Thanks again!

Jan 30, 2014 7:30 PM in response to Lukas 45by Moe Kamel,Hey guys,
I had this problem recently and after going through a lot of apps and online searches it seems exactly like what Dah•veed said, it's a pirated app and mine was Final Cut Pro X.
Deleted the app and removed all associated files and the problem was solved.
Cheers
