Display problem when scrolling in Finder OS X Lion.

Hi,

Last week i bought a new iMac, i7, AMD Radeon 6970M.

Sometimes, when scrolling in the Finder, the text is displayed weird.

See screendump. Is anyone known with this issue?

Hi, I also have the same problem as you can see in the attached file. For me, the problem did not appear in Snow Lepoard. ( My iMac came on June 14th with Snow Leopard installed. )

The problem has only occurred in List View windows and seems to be connected to the refresh mechanism.

I brought the iMac to a Genius Bar at a local Apple Store and the Apple techs confirmed that it occurred in my iMac and also with their version of Lion on an external drive. Its intermittent nature seemed to lower their activity level so I was told to "Wait for an update from Apple" and also reinstall Lion. I have reinstalled Lion twice since and the issue remains the same.

Although I can certainly live with this annoyance, I hope Apple does come up withe a fix sooner rather than later.

The problem gets worst if you try to play Full HD Video inside Safari. For example go to a movie trailer and choose HD 1080p. The quicktime opens and the picture refresh rate is low making the picture to cut several times per sec and then colorful boxes apears everywere in the screen. I believe that the graphics card driver is a little bit faulty!!! Anyway we need update SOON!!!!

I am also seeing the same corrupted text in Finder. I have iMac 3.4 i7 with Radeon 6970.

As an added issue, when using Preview to view pics from Finder, the image sometimes is not updated when moving to the next jpg. To recreate, nav to a folder with multiple photos. Select a photo and hit space bar. After preview opens use arrow keys to preview next jpg. Continue previewing each jpg in the directory using the arrow keys. Sometimes the preview changes to the new jpg, sometimes not.

All of this stuff worked fine under Snow Leopard. Pretty **** frustrating.

I've had the exact same problem with Lion. Telephone support told me to reinstall OS X Lion, which didn't help. The genius at the Genius bar told me it was my 3rd party (Kingston) RAM. He demonstated the display was fine without the extra RAM, but he was using a USB mouse with a scrollwheel. At home, my bluetooh magic mouse continued to cause the same problem, and so did my trackpad. So I determined it had to do with the faster (and different type of) scrolling that these newer devices perform. I then saw that if I use the slider on the right side of the finder window instead of gesturing with the mouse or trackpad it works fine.

So I played with my settings a bit to see if I could overcome this problem, and found a solution. I went to "Preferences-General-Show scroll bars" and changed from "Automatically based on input device" to "Always". This nearly fixes the problem! At least so far. I get an occasional glitch if I scroll up and down a lot, but way less frequently than when its set to the default "Automatically based on input device". This must be due to the new disappearing scrollbar "feature" in Lion. Nicely done, Apple!
