My Macbook Pro (Early 2011) is freezing nearly everyday?

Hi

My Macbook Pro (Early 2011, purchased at launch) is freezing nearly everyday. This problem exists for a long time (Since purchase). Whenever I let my macbook turned on, it freezes after some time. (Quite often in the night). I do not have any hardware hungry applications running. The freezes occure at normal usage. The only way to solve the freez is a complete hardreset.

I do not have any idear why this problem occures.

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7), Early 2011, 15", 2,0 Ghz, 8GB RAM

probably hardware issue i would take it to apple and as its still under warranty get a new one dont know why you didnt take it sooner

K, i'll try it, next time, and post it here.

@Charles70 - Because i need my MacBook... When I take it to apple, it will take a few days untill it comes back to me 😟 + the apple care supporter said that it must not be a hardware issue, but i do not have apple care, so he said i should look in the support communities first...

Please remove the Daemon cn.com.zte.usbswapper.plist in /Library/LaunchAgents/

This daemon tries to find the Mac_SwapperDemon in Vodafone Mobile Connect/Contents/Resources/Specific, which you probably deleted the "easy" way, dragging it into the trash. Good example, how not to delete programs on your computer.

Please, to avoid many postings here again, enter the following commands into your Terminal (Applications > Utilities) by copy and paste. <enter> means hit the line-key (or OK-key):

cd /Library/LaunchAgents/ <enter>

ls <enter> poste perhaps the result of this command here

sudo rm cn.com.zte.usbswapper.plist <enter>

your password and <enter> again

Thanks for your answer, but the MacBook does not stop freezing 😟 Nearly everytime when i use it 12 hours or longer... Most of the time it freezes in the night, when the display is turned off. When i want to use it, in the morning it won't turn on. I must hardreset the device.

Hi, i tried to solve the problem by reinstalling the complete OS, so i formated the HDD and installed Lion and all updates. I had installed besides of uTorrent only apps from the app-store (MPlayerX, DVDPedia, Invisor Lite - none was active during the test). So i turned the macbook on, and the macbook froze again. Can i eliminate the possibility that the problem is a software error? A fresh installed Lion should not freeze...

Hello Marc!

Yes a fresh install may freeze again, because you did not do a "clean" install. If you just have reinstalled everything over an existing system, all the probably software problems are still on your HD. A clean install would mean, you make first an back up (please!), then you reformat your HD, and then you make an install on your clean, empty HD. Please remember to put exactly the same User and Userpassword. And please do not reimport your files back with the migration assistant, because you will probably reimport the problem. Just drag and drop your Documents, Music, Photos ... back to your home folder.

Marc, I already asked you to tell us, which files are in your StartupItems. Open the Terminal and enter following command (copy & paste) followed by <enter> and paste back the result here:

ls /Library/StartupItems/

ls ~/Library/StartupItems/

Please start once with SHIFT key, to see whether the problem persists.

Hi Marek, first: im very thankful for your continuously help!!! But i did a clean install. I reformated my HDD (and overwrote it with 0) and i installed the OS direct from my DVD. So i started with 0. I did not use the migration assistent (because i save my files in any case direct on external HDDs, without timemachine or something like this)

If i type/copy this command in my terminal i get:
