Audiobook appears in the Songs section of the Books Library

Select the songs that you want to be audiobooks, get info, and on the Options tab change the media kind to Audiobook.

I recently downloaded a couple of audio books from iTunes. These files went to "Books." They did not play when selected. I tried selecting the audio book file, getting info and changing the media kind under the Options Tab but was not given a choice to change to Audiobook. The only selection presented under media kind at the drop down menu was "Book."

Any suggestions?

Select the file, use Get Info, look on the summary tab at the filename. If it ends in .epub then you bought a book not an audiobook. Books from the iTunes store can generally only be read with iBooks on an iOS device.

I had audiobooks appearing in the "Song" part of Books instead of "Audiobooks". I had to set Media Type to: Music. And then find it under Music and change it back (again) to Audiobook. Then it appeared correclty under Books.
