it's the same password your are using in this forum

I would go into the account setup and reset the password

Why does Apple not offer "password reminder" so we don't have to change our password?

    Imagine this cycle....

    1. Oops...I forgot my Apple ID password...let me go to www.iforgot.apple.com

    2. OK, only option is to RESET my password...let me decide on an easy one to remember

    3. Oops...I forgot my Apple ID password (again)...let me go to www.iforgot.apple.com

    4. OK, only option is to RESET my password...let me decide on an easy one to remember

    5. Oops...I forgot my Apple ID password (again)..........rinse, lather and repeat.........

Why not offer a proper "send password reminder' so we don't get ourselves into this silly loop? Apple, I get bombarded by users about this. Please, please, please...offer password reminder option to www.iforgot.apple.com.

    Thanks,

    Don

I use a much easier method, I write my password down before I forget it

Yep, we tell our users the tried and true method is to put the password on a stickie and put the stickie on their monitor. Hehe. Point remains, Apple does not offer password reminder. I sent feedback to Apple about this.

All we need is an additional option so when a user goes to iForgot.Apple.com they can follow the usual procedure and get a reminder, instead of having to reset the password (again).

What's to stop me from pretending to be you and recovering your password from iForgot?

@Csound1 The comment about the sticky was tongue-in-cheek.

That I got, it was the other bits I responded too

Ok, maybe you can rephrase the question? Do you understand how iforgot.apple.com works?

  • Csound1 Level 8 Level 8 (40,300 points)

I was not aware that I had posed a question, but what you want to know is

It allows for a password reset, half there and the other half on your computer, take out the other half and security is compromised.

My advice is the same, find a way not to regularly forget your password.

Ahhh, I guess you're confused. The point made was that Apple lacks a "reminder" option. Suggestion submitted to Apple. So your suggestion might help you gain points on the Apple MB system, I guess it's pretty useless otherwise. These kinds of responses remind me why I usually try to avoid consumer forums. :)

I'm stuck in some never-ending loop: I want to update apps on my iphone and the user id (which is the first part of my email without the @xxx.com) won't accept my password. I reset it on the apple site using my full email user id, go back to the iphone, and it still won't accept my new password. I've done this 20 times and I'm running out of passwords. Help?!

Your Apple ID is your email address WITH the @xxx.com. That's why it's not working.
