what is airport extreme's maximum speed

I'm tring to find out the speed specifications of my Airport extreme. I have RoadRunner which is broadband cable internet service. I subscribe to 30mbs/sec download with something called turbo boost which willl allocate more speed when avaiable. I never get over 30mbs/sec and my internet provider said that my Airport Extreme isthe problem. They said it can't go any faster. So This is why I'm trying to find out how fast my Extreme is rated at. Help?

As a wireless router, the AirPort Extreme (5th generation) has two bandwidth (speed) ratings. For wired connections, the maximum bandwidth would be 1000 Mbps; for wireless connections the maximum would be 300+ Mbps. The actual throughput is significantly lower for both of these. The ISP's download/upload speed has nothing to do with the router's speeds.

The maximum Ethernet speed of an AEBS is 1000 Mb/s which is roughly 30 times faster than your cable service. Maximum wireless speed is around 300 Mb/s which is about 10 times as fast as the cable. The RR people are pulling your leg.

But of greater importance is how are you benchmarking the speed?
