I have an old 500 GB Hard Drive with my entire iTunes Library and iPhoto Library on it. I would like to completely copy the content of the drive to my new 2 TB drive. I tried disk restore with Disk Utility, but it says that the old drive "failed to unmount". I tryed many different approaches to fix this, with no avail. Please, if anyone can help, it is greatly appreciated.

I assume your old 500 GB is external?  Is it USB2 or firewire or what?  And the 2 TB drive is internal?  Did you try dragging the drive icon over to the 2 TB?  What else specifically have you tried that did not work?

How is the 2TB drive formatted?  Also, run Repair Disk in

Disk Utility on the old drive.
