How do I select the day in iCal5 of Lion?

Hi,

I used to be able to select the day that i want to set up an event, then press command+n to set up the event. That we in Snow Leopard OS. Now I just downloaded Lion, and the new iCal5 does not seems to allow me to select the day. Does anyone know how to do it?
