I have a pink line across my monitor. What is it, and how I get rid of it?
It goes from top to bottom and its been there for days now.

thnkx. and would it be any risk on losing data? like my personal stuff?? X)
Some of the now older iMacs have issues with the video circuitry. Not usually cost effective to try to salvage. Sell it for parts, etc. and move up I think.
well, i tried restarting the PRAM.. didnt work, now i have a yellow line too...
should I call this ppl to charge me 50$ a question???
You can also run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode to test it. Neither that nor a PRAM reset will affect your data. I suspect if it finds it the result will be a graphics card failure. You can also take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for professional evaluation. IMHO if it's the graphics card you may want to consider replacing the computer. FWICT it appears to be 4+ years old so it's probably time.
Same here 😟 Bright pink flickering lines everywhere. To the genius bar it is....
