ipad mold

Last April 2011 I replaced my screen protector because ithas a hair line scratches and dust under my screen protector. When thetechnician cleaning the LCD he noticed that the dust I’m talking about isinside the screen so I asked him how the dust get inside..May 2011 I left my Ipadto my sister and went to Singapore for 2 months and back to Philippines thismid July and I noticed my Ipad had a molds inside the screen and I figure outthat the dust saw last April is not really dust its mold. And I called hotline ofapple they said that my Ipad warranty has expired last June 22 2011 and i need to pay around USG 800.for repair... The agent in thier call center advise me to bring the ipad to orchard singapore to check..Is apple reconsider this problem? any help or advise tnx.
