How will an Apple Composite AV Cable work?

If I bought a Apple Composite AV Cable, appropriately connected my iPod touch to a regular T.V., would the video from my iPod touch show things like games, the home screen, music, and video on the T.V.? I'd really like to know before I considered buying one. Thank You.
