Since upgrading to 10.7 Lion, I have not been able to scan to a network folder on my mac.
Have downloaded the latest driver from HP, and reinstalled the driver etc, but to no avail?
Any thoughts?

What application are you using to scan?
I haved used both the HP Embedded Web Server (Scan to a Network Folder Setup) and the HP Setup Assistant that is within the HP Utility App (Version 5.0.1)

Have you talked to HP? Is there anything in Console? Maybe about permissions issues?
No I haven't spoken to HP just done a lot of looking around the Net. Console, Permission you have exposed my ignorance now, sorry.
Console is in /Applications/Utilities, and it logs errors, warnings, and other system messages. It be offer some hwlp on why you can't save to a network folder.
When I attempt to test the creation of the Network folder setup from within the Embedded Web Server, which fails. I checked the Console and can see the following errors being logged repeatedly.

Does that mean anything to you?
No, the Safari error doesn't help. I was expecting something with permissions. It seems like it's time to take this to HP. Sorry I can't help.

The problem is quite simpel. Apple made some changes to the smb protocol in Lion, which is used for the scan to folder feature. For instance, apple disabled some authentification protocols. You can correct that, if you're familiar with Terminal. Links you could try:

I made our Officejet 7680 scanning to our Lion server again this way.... Succes!

there's a firmware update for HP OfficeJet Pro 6500 Wireless (A909g) which is compatible with the new SMBX protocol! This re-enables scan to folder capabilities in OSX 10.8 & later!
You CANNOT find this update under Mac OSX menu on the HP support page but only under Windows, and need to update the firmware via a Windows system (or a VMware machine).
After that, it works again!
