Why won't my videos sync to my iPhone after updating it?

Hi!

Okay, so today I updated my iPhone 3G to 4.2 since the older version doesn't let me install apps; but here's the thing: before I updated my iPhone, I could sync videos as long as they had an mp4 format. AFTER I updated it, I had to re-sync the music and the videos cuz they were deleted from my phone. I was able to sync the music from my iTunes library but when I tried to sync the videos a message popped up saying the videos weren't copied because the video format wasn't supported by my iPhone. All the videos were in an mp4 format. Pleas help me! x(

Not all mp4 videos will work. There are many ways to encode video into a mp4 container. Some won't work and some will. What I'd recommend trying (after backing up) is in iTunes right click on the video that isn't copying to the phone and from the popup menu select the convert to iPhone compatible option. It's not a fast operation, though, but when I had this happen before it always worked.
