iPhone 4 date changed to 1970!

For reasons beyond my understadning, the date of my iPhone 4 changed today to Jan, 1970! The time it showed was 1245 AM. So i guess it must have been that way for uptil 45 minutes before I noticed this. I immediatelly searched google with keywords "iphone 1970" and I found other people have had similar problems too on their iphones and ipods. I couldn't, however, find a cause or a solution. Restarting and soft resetting didn't help. I changed the date manually. It was set to get time automatically. God knows whether it got that time from Apple's time server, or my MacBook or Vodafone but I can say for sure that this has never happend on my other phones so Vodafone is not a problem and the Macbook't date/time is appropriate.

Can anyone tell me whats going on?
