Someone stole my Ipad, what can I do to locate it since it is only connected with wi-fi?

I lost my Ipad, it was stolen while I was in the atm in a mall 😟.. the cctv and security didn't give much help😐.. The Ipad is still gone.. I have tried to locate the ipad through mobile me, I also leave a remote message and lock it.. both of them still pending😟.. it was a gift from my mother and I feel really bad about this..

I encounter problem in finding my ipad since it was only connected with wi-fi.. Now, I really have no idea what else that I can least do?

Please do let me know any information that might help..

I really thank you for any replies regarding my situation above.

Change passwords for any online service you may have used from your iPad - your Apple ID's password, online backing passwords, online store passwords, etc. While it's not likely, it is possible someone could recover such passwords from your iPad. Better to be safe than sorry.

And yes, it is possible for a thief to be able to unlock your iPad if you used the simple (four-digit) passcode. It's not easy, but it can be done. The thief can of course just restore the iPad, which while it would erase all your data and content allow the thief to then use the iPad as a new device (which the thief may have already done which would remove the Find My iPad setup).
