How to paste pictures into mail
If I copy a picture from Photos and paste it into an email it shows as a document. Is there any way to paste it in so that the photo actually shows?
iPad 2, iOS 4.3.2

Tap and hold down on the photo until the "Copy" option pops up. Select copy. Go to email, begin typing your message, tap and hold down in the body of the message until the "paste" option pops up - and then select paste.
Send your email.
I've done that, it just shows a document with the file name underneath, I don't see the actual photo.
I think it might depend upon either the dimensions of the photo or its size. I have some jpegs that when I copy and paste into the Mail app show as the actual picture. Others (which have larger dimensions and therefore file size) just show as 'image.jpeg'
You may be correct - you usually are - I can't find a photo that is so large in my collection of photos that it will not allow me to paste it into the body of the email.
Makes some sense, too bad there isn't a way to resize it. I'm working in the UK for a couple weeks, sending pictures home. Standard canon power shot. I can't change the size I send, so they probably are pretty big.
I've got a few large jpegs of photos as I'd had them printed poster sized, and I then copied them onto my iPad via the camera connection kit (as anything that goes through iTunes get 'optimised' to be below a maximum size). I assume that it's the dimensions that's the issue for the Mail app, as opposed to the file size, but I'm not sure
There are a number of apps that you can use to crop photos (e.g. Adobe Photoshop Express), and with iOS 5 in the Autumn we should be able to crop photos in the Photos app itself (http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos)
I assume that there are also photo apps that can re-size photos, not that I've got one.
Edited : corrected name of the app

I looked in the app store, all I could find was foreign language versions.
I don't want to edit it in Photos, that would alter the original, I just want it smaller for emails.
Photogene for iPad (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photogene-for-ipad/id363448251?mt=8#) says that it can resize photos, but I havn't tried it so I don't know how good it is. If you are here in the UK for a couple of weeks then you probably won't be able to buy apps anyway as you are not in the country where your iTunes account is based.
I haven't tried PhotoGene yet, on my list. But, yes, you can purchase apps while outside the country. Sesrching the web, however, is much harder. Almost every shopping sites automatically assumes you want to shop in the UK, very few let you pick your area.
