Wiki Active Directory security group not listed

We have a Lion mac mini server with Active Directory binding. There are two similar problems. First adding active users within the Permissions section of the Wiki Settings does not appear to traverse the Active Directory server properly. The accounts can not usually be added unless the user first logs onto the Wiki. Where this becomes a large issue is trying to add a security to the Permissions page. Regardsless of typing a partial or complete security group name does not list the desired group.

Any way to enter the security group outside of the Wiki GUI?
