How to delete OTHER space on macbook pro?

I am new on MAC and i really looked up for an answer but didn't find any...

This is my problem, i hope you can help me

My macbook pro is 2 months old and my storage is classified as...

Audio 1.97 GB

Movies 574.6 MB

Photos 2.06 GB

Apps 8.8 GB

Backups Zero KB

Other 14.27 GB

Maybe I am new but I don't think its normal that OTHER space is taking a LOT of space, even more than apps

Is there a way to erase it or to fix it?

The only thing I could think of is Microsoft Office for Mac but come on,,, that Other category is too excesive!!

Please Help!!

Should I restore it and installed Lion again?

I had this same exact problem and found out that final cut pro was duplicating video files. First you need to use OmniDiskSweeper to find what files are taking up space and then you can delete them. I deleted my duplicated movies and it worked like a charm. You can get OmniDiskSweeper at http://www.omnigroup.com/more . You need to make sure to only delete FCPX Render files. These are the backup files for Final cut pro. The OmniDiskSweeper program will show you what's taking up space but make sure not to delete files you need or it can cause problems. I would do a search if there files you don't recognize. If there FCPX Render files you should be fine
