It worked for me the other day. I downloaded it for $12.95, converted my Outlook mail files to .mbox, and my Contacts to a .vcf file. I don't use Calendar, but if I did, that would have been converted as well. Moved the files, via an external drive, to my iMac and imported them. The only thing that I thought was odd was that most of my Mail folders had an accompanying mail archive folder, with the contents of the archive folders being a subset of what was in the corresponding Mail folder. Not a big deal, after I spot checked a couple of Archive folders, I was able to delete them.

It was kind of odd trying to find the actual download site for O2M, it appears that Little Machines website is under construction, and has redirects to something called MessageSave. I was finally able to find it...

One thing I forgot to mention is that the conversion of my emails wasn't a hands off affair. Not a lot of monitoring needed, but from time to time it would stop, with the popup stating that the program could not determine the date of the email, (paraphrasing). The default choice to make the popup go away and continue converting emails is to allow the program to set the email date to the current date. That action makes for some emails that are out of sequence, but that's not an issue for me; if it was 1% of the emails, I would be surprised.

After the total disaster of trying to use Lion's Windows Migration Assistant to move my files, this little $12.95 program worked amazingly well.

DON'T BUY THIS SOFTWARE!!! I bought it and found that it only migrated 8 out of hundreds of emails. I wanted to call the company and found that they don't have any phone number or address listed. So I tried emailing them 3x. I tried 2x using their online form and 1x by responding to the email they sent me with my serial number. No responses and no failed messages. Now I tried going to the website and none of the links are working. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR MONEY! I am now working with the fraud department at my bank to try to get my money back and I'm reporting them to the BBB.

Also to help you out, I forgot to mention how I ended up having to migrate my emails over to mac. I was using Outlook 2003 on my pc. I tried everything including that horrid o2m software and after days of ripping my hair out, I fixed the issue in less than 10 mins by putting thunderbird on my pc. Thunderbird on pc will import the pst files. Thunderbird for mac won't. So I brought my pst s into thunderbird then exported them to a mbox. I was then able to transfer them to the mac no issues. All emails present.

You're working with the fraud department of your bank and reporting them to the BBB, all over $12.95? Your time was not be worth much, as that seems like a lot of work for little return. Here's a hint: buy any software downloads with AMEX, or any number of major credit cards. (O2M takes all the biggies). If/when the software doesn't work, instead of getting into a tizzy, simply contest the charge to your CC company, and let them handle it.

btw, I used O2M last week, and except for a few small glitches, as I mentioned above, it worked great. I moved over probably around 10K emails, and they are fine. Before I spent the princely sum of $12.95 for )2M, I tried Thunderbird, and not only did I never get it to NOT crash, I never got a response to my questions from the folks there. So it appears I had exactly the opposite experience, compared to you.

@ jmdaniel It's not about the money. I don't want people to get ripped off. Sorry, I guess I'm weird that way. And I've read other reviews on other sites where other people couldn't get the software to work right either so it's not just me. And if everyone that buys the software just says screw it it's only a few bucks then the company wins. What do you think they are banking on? They are hoping people will do just that cause if hundreds or thousands of people say it's only a few bucks and don't do anything that adds up to a lot of money. Do you work for them? I find it really odd that you are upset that I posted the truth about my experience. It's really not that much work either to report these issues. 5 min call to the bank and 5 mins to fill out a form on bbb to help other consumers. Maybe that seems like a lot of work to you.....

I gave my resolution to help people out because o2m worked horribly for me and the fact that you can't call them, can't mail them, and they don't respond to emails is a bit shady. Also the fact that now their website says it's under construction. Thunderbird has been around a very long time and has a huge support forum so how you were unable to find help is beyond me. Where do you go for help for o2m???? I wasn't pushing thunderbird. I used it and it worked for me to get my emails out of outlook and onto my mac. I'm not even using on my mac, using mail. You on the other hand seem to take it personally that I 1) had a problem with the software 2) am actually doing something about it. People go to forums for help and advice. That's what I did. To insult me for doing so makes no sense. This is to help people. Don't bash me for being honest. If it worked for you that's great. But it didn't work for a lot of people and there is no way to get a hold of them after paying them and I think that people have the right to know that before spending their money.

Mizlee, I didn't think I was insulting you, and if that was your impression, I didn't mean to. As far as me working for O2M, I don't, but I actually thought you might work for one of O2M's competitors, for how much you were bashing them here. My suggestion on using your credit card company is just that, a suggestion. I do it all the time, as my time and peace of mind is worth quite a bit to me. AMEX is my card of choice, and they are actually very helpful with chasing down my complaints. I'm happy for you that Thunderbird solved your issues, O2M did for me.

Ok, I'm going to say this again for the people that can't read. If it worked for you GREAT. I am sharing MY experience with the software. It didn't work. It transferred over 8 emails. 8 of a few hundred. I do know what I am doing. I have been a desktop support tech for over a decade. I didn't do anything "wrong". I didn't do the demo version because of the limitations that were on it. If this software is as great as you are saying, please tell me why they have no contact phone number or address and why they don't answer emails? Also, please explain why their site is now "under constuction" so you can't even attempt to contact them through there now. I'm telling the truth about my experience and if you look around I'm not the only one that has had this experience. I used a debit card to buy the software that's why I'm going through my bank. Again only 5 mins to file with them.If you love it then use it and be happy, but why are you upset that I'm sharing the other side of the coin? Do you really think that users/consumers should only hear from the people that like the software and no one else? People can read what all of us said and make their own choices. To be mad because I said the software didn't work for me is plain stupid. You had your experiences. I had mine. I believe that people should read the good and bad. If it worked great for me, I would've been in here cheering it on, but sorry it didn't.

1) I didn't bash anyone that said it worked for them. I said it didn't work for me. I'm getting attacked for saying it didn't work for me? This is craziness. You put in it worked for you then that's all you need to say.

2) I stated the fact that there is no way to reach them. If I'm wrong on that please feel free to correct me with an actual phone number or mailing address for the company. Most people would like to be able to get support if they buy something and I felt like that's something work sharing.

3) Their website is not functioning, but people are mirroring ways to download the software demo then you can still pay them by trying to activiate the demo. Why is that?

4) Everything I said was true to my experience and again look around I'm not the only one. Everyone that blasted me already had posted that they liked the software, but still felt it necessary to freak out because I didn't. Why? Do you all believe that every single person has to have the same experiences?

5) Lastly, @jmdaniel I do support a lot of 3rd party vendors and have for years. This wasn't a bashing of 3rd party vendors. When did I ever say that I have an issue with 3rd party vendors? Last I checked Thunderbird wasn't a paid application by Microsoft or anyone else. A lot of people consider them 3rd party since they are open sourced....

6) @zlig If you had read my posts correctly, how could you say it's a problem with my machine? I told you it worked fine when I used Thunderbird. So there was nothing wrong with my machine. I got every single email, including all folders and attachments, every one. As opposed to the 8 I got with O2M. If there was an issue with my machine, this wouldn't have happened. I'm curious as to what could be wrong with my machine that would cause me to be able to convert this emails fine with one software and not work with another. Please enlighten me. The reason it didn't work with O2M is because of the software. I tried several times and the results did not change. The only thing I was able to convert successfully with O2m was my address book. That's it. My experience that I have every right to share.

Take care and for the lucky ones that didn't have issues, good for you. Wish I had had the same experience, would've made things way simplier.
