Did Lion 10.7.1 fix this problem with the iOS application "Air Display"?

From the developer, Avatrons website:

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT AIR DISPLAY ON LION

The Air Display host software runs well on Lion, but has this limitation: the built-in video driver on certain 2008 and 2009 Macs is incompatible with third-party video drivers. You can still install the Air Display host software, but until Apple fixes the issue, the Air Display drivers will disable themselves on Lion on these specific machines.

Affected machines include:

  • 13" MacBook (aluminum late 2008, early, mid, and late 2009)
  • 13" MacBook Air (late 2008, mid 2009)
  • 13" MacBook Pro (mid 2009)
  • 15" MacBook Pro (late 2008, 2.53 GHz mid 2009, mid 2009)
  • 17" MacBook Pro (early and mid 2009).
  • 20" iMac (early or mid 2009)
  • 24" iMac (early 2009)
  • 21.5" iMac (late 2009)
  • Mac mini (early or late 2009, Server late 2009)
  • Mac mini Mac OS X Server (late 2009)

Apple is aware of the bug. We are hopeful that they will release a fix soon.

Hi again.

Great news: In Mac OS X 10.7.2, Apple has fixed compatibility with Air Display on all but four particular MacBook Pro models. We've just issued a new version of the Mac support software for Air Display that enables the drivers on all of the machines that work on Lion. If you have Air Display installed, please select "Check For Updates" in the Air Display menu. And update to Mac OS X 10.7.2.

The Air Display 1.5.1 virtual video driver will still disable itself on these MBP models:

  • 15" MacBook Pro (late 2008 and mid 2009)
  • 17" MacBook Pro (early and mid 2009).

Hi David.

Doesn't sound like that's related to this.

It sounds like a permissions issue (coupled with a possible bug... the installer should report an error if it can't install some components). But please visit our tech support page: http://avatron.com/support, and use either the Live Chat or Email option to get a better answer from our tech support team. They'll give you places to look for particular files, to determine what's happening and how to resolve it.

Cheers,

Dave
