QuickTime 7 pro can not export file for apple TV after Lion update

1st time I am running into this, and yet another thing to add to the growing list of annoying LION updates entitled "Things that tick me off":

Running QT7 Pro... trying to export and convert an AVI file to Apple TV Format... have done it countless times under Snow Leopard, now I am trying to do it in Lion and it won't work... it starts to export.. and then just simply stops. Any one else finding this an issue? any way to resolve?

I seem to be searching for more and more 3rd party apps to get things done under LION to replace Apple's own apps that are falling short after the OS update. GRRR!

SO if anyone can help me out here, thanks.

It's not just for Apple TV... I think the exporting function in Quicktime 7 is broken. I can't export anything.

Sorry Apple.. but I just found a 3rd party app that WORKS. I can't beleive that I have to go this route to do something like this for Apple to Apple Apps that SHOULD all be compatable and working.... but oh well... like I said, another thing to chalk up about LION that I hate 😟

check it out... it's peppered with ads... but it's FREE and it WORKS.

Yes, same here - Quicktome Pro export IS brokin Lion. Lion is 10.7.2

Can't do SAVE FOR APPLE TV, or iPHONE.

Another attempt of the the dumbing down of pro video by the kiddys that brought you FCP X/iMoviePro

I apologise - QT pro IS broken but i dont think its the export function exactly. Every test we have done was from Prores files - so we conveted the prores to mpeg 4's with QT pro - and the Export for iphone and Aplpe TV - works now.

But Quicktime Player 10 ( read lame kids toy here) canont play the file back - but QT pro can.

I am still in disbelief that Apple is abanding the pro market, but tossing QT pro for the player last year was my first hint of abanding the pro ship ...FCP X was the next shoe to drop...

But.... as other have said FCP 7 runs BETTER under Lion - so indirectly we DID get an upgrade to the pro version of FCP.

So we limp on.
