This is driving me CRAZY!!! It's happening all the time now.
I'm typing away, and all of a sudden I'll be typing in the middle of a previous line. Something is set too sensitively, and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Help me, please! I've had to correct this 5 times while I was typing this discussion.

Try turning off "Tap to click" in System Preferences -> Trackpad. You're probably touching it and registering a click while you're typing. That's not supposed to happen while you're typing, but perhaps you're pausing or something so the click is allowed to register.

I missed that you're using 10.5.x... that's two major versions of the Mac OS older than what I'm using now. Where that option was back then, and what it might have been called, I have no recollection.

I did that and my cursor is still jumping around when I use my macbook pro keyboard and not the usb one. Especially when I'm typing fast. This just started today. First my trackpad quit allowing me to click last night, had to reboot a couple of different times, even had disk utliity repair the permissions and I'm still having issues.
