I recently bought a OfficeJet 6500 E710n-z printer but my iPad won't detect it?

Both are connected to same wi-fi and I have software version 4.3.2 on my iPad. My printer works fine with my Windows 7 laptop and I'm sure it is AirPrint enabled. I already tried restarting it many times, but my iPad just won't detect it. What do I do????

iPad 2, iOS 4.3.2

Are you sure that printer is capable of AirPrint? The 6500A is, but I don't think the non-A version is. Your laptop has a driver that uses the printer's native printing language, NOT AirPrint.

The early 6500A model required a firmware update to enable AirPrint. You should be able to check for an update from the printer's control panel in one of the setup or preferences menus.

Assuming the printer is up-to-date and AirPrint capable, you may have a problem with your WiFi router not correctly handling Bonjour data required by AirPrint. Contact the manufacturer to see if it is possible to change its setup or upgrade its firmware to fix the problem.
