How do you select the featured clip in iMovie 09? That is, the clip that is static before you play the movie.

I know in QuickTime 7 you could set the "Poster Frame" for any quicktime video .mov file. Where does that clip picture show up before you play the movie, is this in iMovie or iDVD?
This is in iMovie 09 but I am not sure I understand your question. At the moment, I have to rely on YouTube to select the feature clip. YouTube gives a choice of three and sometimes they are lousy. I did this once before and I can't remember how I did it. I'd like to choose my own feature clip.
I see what you mean, that's technically a YouTube question. I'll play around with it tomorrow morning and leave you a response here.
Thank you 🙂
This is becoming a habit lol
Well, I know how to do it in YouTube but iMovie lets you do it, too. I've done it before. The problem is I can't remember how I did it lol!
So you want a feature clip, how does that appear when you play back the movie? Do you see it in iMovie or when you play it back after you save it on the Desktop?
It is the clip that advertises the movie. I am sure you know Facebook. Well, if someone posts a video on your wall you see an image in the video before you play it. That one. If you have selected a poster clip/feature clip it is the clip by which you recognize the movie, other than the name. When you look at videos in YouTube's directory each video has an image. If I save a movie on my desktop, it has an image.
Okay, now we're getting somewhere. I know what you're talking about now. Try this:
That thumbnail should be permanent
This worked beautifully - until I uploaded it to YouTube. It lost the feature clip. YouTube came up with three of its own. I must be doing something wrong because when I did this a few months ago it held after the upload. I wish I could remember exactly what I did.
I tried uploading it to Facebook as well but the thumbnail did not hold.
