trackpad settings not saving after powering down

after checking the boxes for new trackpad gesture settings (clicking, dragging, draglock, and double tap), they often do not save after I turn off and turn back on my computer.

normally then after starting up, I would then have to go back to trackpad settings and re-check those boxes. I have tried checking for software updates, but nothing so far has solved this issue.

anyone with the same issue and has found the resolution?

FYI, i'm running OS X 10.6.8 (snow leopard) on a late 2006 MacBook w/ a 2 GHz Intel Core Duo processor.

thanks in advance...

I have been having the same trackpad preference problem on my MacBook 10.6.8 . . .

I am not using any particular application that is special and should create a conflict . . . none of the ones anyone else has mentioned . . .

It seems that the issue usually happens when I reboot my computer . . . occasionally when I'm already in and using it . . .

It's annoying . . .

Hi raymond11.

I'd been searching to an answer for this for months with no resolve until (EUREKA!) this recent post by Barsney-15E and clarified further by Don.

Deleting com.apple.driver.AppleBluetoothMultitouch.trackpad.plist from the preferences folder seems to have finally resolved the issue for me.
