my ipod dose not get connected in the itunes its goin on showing an error message whn ever i connect kindly help me plz

what does the error message say ?
it says tht the ipod cannot connect to d itunes and on my ipod screen an image only i can c the image is like when u buy the ipod and connect it for the first time to your laptop u can see an image right asking u to connect to the itunes only that image i can c and on my itunes page it shows an error that my ipod cannot connect......
