on august 7th, i was uploading pictures from my camera to iphoto. iphoto glitched up, and i ended up accidentally permanently deleting about 300 photos from my ('06 version, i believe) iphoto library. does anyone know where they are sent to once "permanently" deleted? how can i get these pictures back? any help is appreciated. thank you.

have you emtied the iPhoto trash? if not they are in it
the only real protection from this type of error is a good backup -- load your backup and you will have your photos back - if you don't have a backup you will lose all of your photos and all of your other files sooner or later - things and people fail

You would have to use a file recovery application like SubrosaSoft FileSalvage. You can run it in demo mode to see if it can detect and recover those photos before you purchase it.
