the sound is permanently mute

Omg i tried everything i've searched all over tried everything there is but nothing is working for my iphone which has muted apps but the phone,youtube and alarm still work and i don't know what to do any suggestions? By the way my phone was bought from /made in Japan so maybe it's a little different.... .-.

TRY THIS THE TWO BUTTONS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF YOUR IPHONE PUSH THE TOP BUTTON AND YOU SHOULD SEE A SMALL SQUARE LINES GOING ACROSS YOUR SCREEN SHOWING YOUR VOLUME GOING UP, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO HEAR SOUND NOW

Try plugging in headphones and then unplugging them repeatedly. Or taking some compressed air and blowing it in to the headphone jack. Sometimes it can get pretty dirty.

RagingRaindrop, that solved my problem. The phone thought the headphones were plugged in. Compressed air into the jack fixed it.
